We have much to be grateful for and much to be excited about. Some of the highlights so far this season include:
*Skellorn Daphinoir aka Davie's first foal arrives. We were so pleased and excited to have the opportunity to purchase this grand imported Section B stallion. Davie had been bred to only a handful of purebred mares when we purchased him. We plan to change that and in doing so put some stunning foals on the ground. Our broodmare band i unsurpassed in quality and depth. This season we introduce Evans Jacob out of our beloved Royal Welsh Winner and multiple Ch. on the line in the UK, *Bronhuelog Antonia. Evans Jacob is bred in the purple and surpasses our expectations!
I would like to introduce Kali and Les from PonyPros, a natural horsemanship, jumping, trail riding, and dressage program for kids and ponies. In addition to their success with the ponies using a Natural style of training, they also offer our clients the opportunity to pick a pony who is residing at the farm and custom train that pony for it's new home. We have a number of success stories where Evans Welsh and PonyPros have worked together to produce the perfect pony for your family and/or discipline. Most recent case in point is Evans Southern Comfort. A flashy three year old gelding by our fancy imported *Hilin Trysor, Evans Southern Comfort aka CinCin, exhibits his athleticism and trainability the Evans Ponies are known for.

Kali and Les have written a total of three books and have produced a video which are all highly touted by us and many others. Kali's "Games with Ponies" book features Evans Warwick and an Evans bred gelding by our imported Carolinas Purple Emperor son, *Priestwood Domingo and out of Evans New York. |
PonyPros Kali and Les and their students are showcased at a recent Parelli clinic in Bend, Oregon. PonyPros and ponies wowed a crowd of 2,000 and stole the show. Kali and Les will be traveling to Colorado later this summer to the Parelli ranch for a month. They have been awarded a scholarship with the Parelli Program and will most likely take an Evans pony along.
PonyPro student, Emma and our own Evans Thistle Isle are also featured on the Parielli home page. You can find them at the bottom of the home page demonstrating how well they have mastered some of the Parielli based games.
In the midst of thunderstorms and gorgeous spring days, Mt Dragon hosted a PonyPros colt starting camp/clinic. Attended by ten PonyPros students and three mothers, the event was considered a huge success. Evans ponies from foals to three year olds volunteered. The days were filled with Kali and Les and the girls working with ponies, playing with ponies, relaxing at Wallowa Lake, and telling stories around the camp fire.
On the other side of the country at Devon, Evans Circe Du Dralion won the Get Of Sire with three of his foals going 1st, 2nd, and 4th out of a class of 8. Our thanks to Locke Kelly for putting Dralion to her lovely mares. This year's foal is no exception. Sired by the legendary Multiple Supreme Ch. and AWS approved Sport Pony stallion, Evans Providence Of The Night, Evans The Bravery brings it all together. A true black with a blaze and stockings, this big handsome colt is awesome. |

And last but not least, Mt Dragon is very excited to introduce our newest acquisition, an absolutely incredible colt whose pedigree reads like the who's who of the UK breeding world in general and the well known Waxwing Stud in particular. (Waxwing is the home of the Waxwing, Wedderlie, and Mynach prefix.) Having lost our Waxwing colt, Wedderlie Maradonna, a full brother to Wedderlie Mardi Gras a few years back, we have been looking for a suitable replacement. We feel we have found exactly that with this colt. Although we would have gladly gone to the expense and trouble of importing from Scotland again, we were thrilled to find Bluebird Matthew in Canada. Imported after winning at the Royal Welsh Show, Mynach Mystical is a Matthew's sire. His dam, Waxwing Marimba, is was also imported from the Waxwing farm by Laurie Nelson. Both sire and dam are now owned by the Anbay farm in Canada.
Matthew has the size, way of going, and pedigree to cross well with many of our mares and fillies we have retained through the years. in 2010 our breeding program will be taken to it's next level, as we use our retained Wedderlie Maradonna son and daughters, Matthew, Evans Providence Of The Night and imported stock..
