Everyone at Mt Dragon wants to join Evans Providence Of The Night in celebrating the New Year. We also want to take this opportunity to thank our Abba Father, all our loyal customers (those who bought Evans Ponies and those who bred to our stallions) and everyone - family and volunteers alike - who make our farm what it is. Evans ponies have gone to homes as far away as Australia, Canada, Hawaii, and Alaska. We are also well represented in many of the 48 states. Thank you everyone!! Evans Providence Of The Night passes IRS Oldenburg Inspection!
We would like to announce that our home grown, senior stallion, Evans Providence Of The Night passed the ISR Oldenburg Inspection with flying colors and excellent scores. Retired from the show ring after his incredibly successful 2006 season, Providence wowed the judges at the prestigious event with a strong performance in all areas. Scoring a total of 231 points, Providence received 8's or higher in a number categories including canter, athletic ability and balance, Dressage: capability, style & technique, and natural aptitude and balance. His jumping index was 84.

Due to Providence's early show career, he doesn't have many foals on the ground. However, he has already produced one 1st Premium winning filly and other winners at halter in breed shows. We currently had one two year old filly by Providence available, Evans Dark Merideth, one yearling palomino colt, Evans Volturi, and one black weanling colt, Evans The Bravery.
Providence is a substantial stallion, standing at a true 13.2hh. He moves like a WB and passes on both his atheitic ability and correct beauty to his foals.

Owned and operated by Kerry and Donald Urquhart, Sar Ranch is a perfect six acre ranch set against the hills in Hollister. The ranch creates a wonderful environment for childrn and adults alike, all sharing in the love of the horses/ponies and the Sport of English, Hunt Seat Riding, and Jumping. The ranch boasts a 14 stall barn and paddocks, numerous large fenced fields, and a lit covered arena for all weather riding.
The Sar program offers English, Hunter, and Jumping lessons specializing in children and adults of all ages, beginner Lead Line to Grand Prix and everything in between.
· Comprehensive support services of training, transportation, and on site instruction at shows
· Kerry Urquhart boasts 30 years of teaching children how to ride from the ground up in the classic style of English hunt seat jumping
· Beginning students initially ride on veteran school horses or ponies. As they gain skills, many students are able to assist schooling other horses and ponies at the ranch
· Kerry and her students continue to attend clinics with top level international riders such as Olympian Susie Hutchinson, Ann Kurzinski, Greg Best, Grand Prix rider Richard Spooner, and Equitation Specialist Nick Karazizzis
· Kerry enhances the educational experience with group attendance to various upper level shows to observe Grand Prix competition
· Many of her students attain numerous show championships and year end awards throught the years. Attending 4H, CSHA, with A/B, double and tripple A Rated Open Shows rounding out the competition levels at such prestigious shows as Grand National, Jr Grand National, Santa Barbara, Indio, Woodside, Pebble Beach, Calistoga Wine Country Classic, Rancho Murietta, Fresno and Almaden Farms to name a few.
What a wonderful environment for our Evans ponies, where they will be trained and show-cased! Through the years, our ponies have always exceled in the show arenas. However, located in the remote Wallowa Mountains in NE Oregon, it hasn't always been easy for us to get our ponies out. It is also difficult for clients to view our ponies. We are very excited to have the opportunity to work with Kerry, taking advantage of her wonderful, well established program.

Armani is an amazing athlete with a fantastic jump. He is an excellent mover and will model well. Armani is currently in a professional program at Union Station Stables in NJ.

Some of the highlights so far this season include:
*Skellorn Daphinoir aka Davie's first foal arrives. We were so pleased and excited to have the opportunity to purchase this grand imported Section B stallion. Davie had been bred to only a handful of purebred mares when we purchased him. We plan to change that and in doing so put some stunning foals on the ground. Our broodmare band is unsurpassed in quality and depth. This season we introduce Evans Jacob out of our beloved Royal Welsh Winner and multiple Ch. on the line in the UK, *Bronhuelog Antonia. Evans Jacob is bred in the purple and surpasses our expectations!
 Mt Dragon is very excited to introduce our newest acquisition, an absolutely incredible colt whose pedigree reads like the who's who of the UK breeding world in general and the well known Waxwing Stud in particular. (Waxwing is the home of the Waxwing, Wedderlie, and Mynach prefix.) Having lost our Waxwing colt, Wedderlie Maradonna, a full brother to Wedderlie Mardi Gras a few years back, we have been looking for a suitable replacement. We feel we have found exactly that with this colt. Although we would have gladly gone to the expense and trouble of importing from Scotland again, we were thrilled to find Bluebird Matthew in Canada. Imported after winning at the Royal Welsh Show, Mynach Mystical is a Matthew's sire. His dam, Waxwing Marimba, is was also imported from the Waxwing farm by Laurie Nelson. Both sire and dam are now owned by the Anbay farm in Canada.
Matthew has the size, way of going, and pedigree to cross well with many of our mares and fillies we have retained through the years. in 2010 our breeding program will be taken to it's next level, as we use our retained Wedderlie Maradonna son and daughters, Matthew, Evans Providence Of The Night and imported stock..
